Getting started
- Open Dance Tools and tap Try Sample to add our practice song.
- Tap a snippet. It loops until you tap Stop.
- Tap Half Speed to slow it down, and tap again for Full Speed.
I got a song from my Leader
Install Dance Tools, then tap the song file (it ends in .zd) in Messages, WhatsApp, email or Files. It opens in Dance Tools with every snippet ready. You don’t need an account.
Adding your own songs
Tap Import Song and pick any audio file. You’ll be asked to sign in with Apple or Google the first time. Each new song starts with a Full Song snippet; tap + to add your own.
Need room for more songs? Email us.
Gmail says “File can’t be attached”
The Gmail app on iPhone doesn’t accept Dance Tools song files (.zd). Share the song with the Mail app instead (it can send from a Gmail address too), or use AirDrop, Messages or WhatsApp.
Dancers can open the email in any mail app, including Gmail: tap the attachment and choose Dance Tools.
New snippets aren’t showing up
Updates arrive over the internet. Check that your device is online, then open the song again. Changes made while you were offline appear as soon as you reconnect.
It says “Playback Off”
The song’s Leader has turned off Allow Playback, often at the end of a season. Ask them to turn it back on.
I can’t open a private song
Private songs only open for the Dancers the Leader adds. Sign in, open Account and show your QR code. Your Leader or a Co-Lead scans it in person to add you.
Changing the language
Dance Tools follows your device’s language. To pick a different one, sign in and go to Account → Language.
Your privacy
Dance Tools is built so your music and your data stay yours.
Your music stays on your device
Audio is never uploaded. Only song names, snippets and notes are saved online, so updates can reach your class.
Practice without an account
Dancers can open a shared song and practice without signing in.
Sign-in is optional
Apple or Google only. Your email is never shown to other people and never used for marketing.
Diagnostics are off by default
You choose whether to share crash and usage data. It’s never used for ads.
No ad tracking. No selling data.
No advertising ID, location, contacts or microphone. We don’t track you across other apps.
Camera only for QR codes
The camera is used only to scan QR codes. Images are processed on your device and never stored.
Delete your account
You only have an account if you signed in with Apple or Google.
In the app
- Open Dance Tools and go to Account.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm with Apple or Google when asked.
You need an internet connection. If you cancel or go offline before it finishes, nothing is deleted.
By email
Email tools@toolbunch.com from the address on your account and tell us whether you sign in with Apple or Google. We’ll confirm and delete it within 30 days.
What’s deleted
- Your account and profile (name and email).
- Every song you lead, for everyone, with its snippets.
- Your Co-Lead and Dancer entries on other people’s songs.
Deleting your account can’t be undone.
